Your Pre-Interview Checklist

Preparing for an interview goes beyond just looking good on the day of – it's also about the preparation you do the night before. ✔️ To help you ace your next interview, I’ve put together a comprehensive pre-interview checklist. Follow these steps to make sure you're ready to go👇🏼

Read the Company's Website and Social Media:

Dive deep into the company's website and social media profiles 💻📱 Understand their mission, values, products, and culture and tailor your answers to showcase how great of a culture fit you’ll be 😉 


Research Recent Company News:

Stay up-to-date with the latest news about the company. This could include recent achievements, milestones, or even challenges they've overcome. 🗞️🚨 Incorporate this information into your responses to show that you're well-informed and maybe ask a follow-up question or two about them 💬


Plan and Iron Your Outfit:

Choose an outfit that aligns with the company's dress code. Make sure it's clean, well-ironed, and you feel comfortable and confident in it 👕💫


Script and Rehearse Answers:

Anticipate the top 10 most common interview questions 🗣️✍🏼 and write out your answers. Rehearse them to make sure you can respond confidently and concisely during the interview.


Have Your Stories Ready:

Prepare specific examples from your experiences that highlight your skills and achievements ➡️ Use the STAR technique (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your responses effectively.


Look Up the Interviewer on LinkedIn:

If you know the name of your interviewer, look them up on LinkedIn. 🕵️ It can provide insights into their professional background and help you establish a connection. In other words, try to find something you have in common! 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼


Test Your Wi-Fi and Have a Backup Hotspot:

If your interview is virtual, test your Wi-Fi connection and video platform in advance. Have a backup hotspot ready in case of any technical glitches. 👩🏼‍💻 You want this process to go as smoothly as possible.


✨ Oh and pro tip! Look up the company on Glassdoor to check for tips, info & interview q’s :)
